Our National Philanthropy
Giving back to those around us has been a part of Alpha Chi Omega's culture since its founding. Alpha Chi's national cause is Domestic Violence Awareness (DVA) and we are so proud to stand for a cause that affects women everywhere. Our chapter works closely with the Good Shepherd Shelter for Battered Women to spread domestic violence awareness and give back to the community. As both a national organization and an individual chapter, we are passionate about affecting change through philanthropic work.

In addition to volunteering at the supporting domestic violence awareness, our chapter partners with The Birthday Party Project, a nonprofit organization that hosts monthly birthday bashes for children at homeless and transitional living facilities across the country. We also organize several monthly service events, such as volunteering at the Westside German Shepherd Shelter or working at the Los Angeles Food Bank. Our chapter is very passionate about providing members with ample opportunities for hands-on philanthropic work..

We host two philanthropy fundraisers each year. In the fall, Alpha Chi hosts "Alpha Chi Spike", a Spikeball tournament where the fraternities compete against each other and raise money for The Good Shepherd Shelter. This event is one of the highlights of our year; it is so much fun and helps us support an organization we are passionate about.
In the spring, we host “Burger Bash”, a fundraising event with all-you-can-eat burgers, tots, and desserts. We also host a candlelight vigil to raise awareness and honor those affected by it. A speaker from the Good Shepherd Shelter hosts this event with us; it is an impactful and informative evening for our sisters and other members of the USC community. In addition to supporting DVA, we enjoy giving back to our community & other charitable causes through participating in fraternity philanthropies & completing service projects together.
